TQUK Level 5 Diploma in Education and Training (RQF)

(MQA NQF 6 equivalence)

What does the qualification cover?

The aim of the diploma is to give you the tools to become a successful teacher in the real world. That means the core knowledge, understanding and skills needed to work efficiently as a teacher. Above all, you’ll learn key training duties in a learning environment that boosts your effectiveness within the classroom.

When you enrol, you’ll explore the core aspects of teaching, learning and assessment. For example, you’ll look at the roles and responsibilities of a teacher, individual learning goals, and how to evaluate your own practice. Next, you’ll examine key theories, principles and models to developing a curriculum within your own specialism.

What are our entry requirements?

Candidates should possess a Cambridge Higher School Certificate or any NQF level 5 equivalence in the education field.

​

Do you need to be working to take this qualification?

A minimum of 350 placement hours is required. During placement, learners will need support from a professional within the real work environment who will be required to complete professional development records.

 

Learners will need to be working, volunteering or on practical placement to be able to show competence in both knowledge and skills. It is not essential for learners to be in employment to undertake this qualification but they will need to make arrangement to complete their training portfolio.

How is it assessed?

All units are internally assessed by your Tutor or Assessor using a portfolio of evidence. At the end of our academic year NOCN will carry out an External Quality Assurance of the qualifications.

To gain this qualification the learner will need to:  

• Pass all units  

• Complete all marked assignments and coursework  

• Show competence in a real work environment

​

How long does it take to complete?

These qualifications will take 12 months to complete.
